GETTING A CUSTOM CAKE QUOTE
Due to the specialized nature of each quote and the many complex variables of pricing a cake, requests for wedding or custom cake quotes will not be given over the phone; For a more informal approach, we are happy to help you in person at the store; For a more Formal approach, or for more complex cakes, you might want to make an appointment with Chef Abi. Please call 808-946-4333 for an appointment. The third way to get a quote is to send a quote request via email by completing our online form. This is a great way to get a quote if you can’t or don’t have time to come in. Our full-time Custom Design Consultant will be happy to respond to you within a three day time period. If your event falls within one week, please use the term “URGENT” in the subject line.
Wedding Cake Tastings & Consultations
Consultations by Chef Abi are by appointment only. The meeting consists of a 30-45 minute consultation, and 6-7 different cake offerings. This is definitely the way to go if you want to find out about all your options, or have special design needs. Chef Abi can help you design your cake, whether you have something specific in mind or just want a one of a kind unique cake for your special day.
Fees and Payment: If you would like to schedule a consultation appointment with Chef Abi, the fee is $50, to be paid in advance of your appointment. This fee is refundable up to one week prior to your consultation appointment, and non refundable thereafter. Until we have received payment for your consultation, we CANNOT guarantee your appointment. Appointments can be scheduled and paid for by calling the Bakery @ (808)946-4333.
Special Sampling Requests: At the time of your scheduling and payment, please let us know about any flavor requests you may have from the listing featured on our website. Depending on availability, we will do our best to accommodate requests as much as possible, although we cannot make absolute guarantees. Any flavor request must be submitted at least one week in advance in order that we have time to accommodate them. If the flavor you would like to taste is a specialty flavor not normally produced by our bakery, we may charge a fee for the custom flavor.
Timeliness: Because our time for consultations is limited and we often book appointments back to back, being on time to your consultation is greatly appreciated. Because we may delay 2-3 appointments after yours with excessive tardiness, we will need to reschedule an appointment if you are more than 15 minutes late. Thank you for your understanding.
Guests: Due to the distracting nature of a large number of guests at your consultation, we respectfully ask that you minimize your count to 4 maximum, including yourself. If you are able to confirm the guest count at the time of your booking, that would be extremely helpful in letting our Custom Cake Consultant know what to anticipate.
Quoting: During your consultation Chef Abi will ask you to present pictures and details of your wedding, invitations and color swatches and any other design elements that we may need in order to help you come up with a great cake design that fits you and your budget. We encourage you to look at and bring in different cake pictures, and styles to help you decide on the perfect cake for your special day. Chef Abi will be able to come up with a design sketch and quote for the cake you envision during the consultation, provided that the cake is not extremely detailed or complex. Please remember that quotes are not considered set and may change at any time unless a deposit is put down to lock it in. Pricing is not given for cakes needed outside of 12 months due to the possible fluctuations in bakery prices in that time.
Wedding Cake Quotes via Email
How to Inquire: In order to obtain a quote, you can fill out our online form. Please make sure to fill out all required fields on the form, so we can better help you. Although price quotes for cakes depend on a number of size and design variables, we understand not every client is well versed in what the price of a wedding cake should be. Please note that at least a basic idea of your budget is helpful for us to better quote you.
Quoting: When our Custom Cake Consultant has all the information they need to give you an approximate price quote for your cake, they will send you a proposal via Honeybook. You will be able to pay your deposit through Honeybook, as well as sign our contract. Please understand that this quote is not considered set until a deposit is placed on the order to lock it in. Prices are subject to change at any time. The only way to lock in the price you were quoted is to place your deposit on the proposal provided.
Deposits/Payments/ Cancellations on Wedding Contracts
Deposit: In order to lock in pricing and confirm your date, a 50% deposit must be placed on your cake, as a retainer, along with a signed contract. The only exception to this rule is if the cake is ordered it within the two-week period before the wedding, in which case full payment is required to finalize your order.
Final Payment: Final payment for your cake is due two weeks prior to the wedding date. If final payment is not received PRIOR to the event date, the cake will not be made. No exceptions.
Payment Options: Payment options are the following:
• Personal check made out to Cake Works- with the name the order is under and event date. Checks must be scheduled to arrive before the two-week due date.
• Payment in-store
• Payment over the phone using credit card information
• Online through Honeybook software via Bank Transfer or Credit Card
Cancellations: Cakes cancelled prior to the 14 day lockout date can be refunded up to 50% of the total Cake cost. Cakes cancelled after the 14 day lockout date will not be refunded at all. If unforeseen events outside of your immediate control occur, you may contact Cake Works to go over your options. Orders will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and exceptions are not guaranteed.
Changes or Additions to Your Order
Design Changes: We welcome any changes to your cake order including size, description, flavors, etc up until two weeks prior to the wedding date. After that, you may contact Cake Works to go over your options. Orders will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and exceptions are not guaranteed.
Additions to Your Order: If you should decide to add on any cakes, french macarons, cupcakes, etc. to your order, we will happily process this addition until one week prior to your wedding date.
Special Circumstances/ Late Fee: On a case-by-case basis we will consider any changes after the two week mark, however any changes are subject to a $30 processing fee. The Custom Cake Consultant MUST approve or deny the request and it is not guaranteed in every circumstance. Thank you for your understanding and help in ensuring our day-to-day operations run smoothly
Pickup and Delivery
Pickup: We do not recommend transporting cakes more than 2 tiers yourself. If you wish to pick up a cake against this recommendation, Cake Works staff will do their best to pack the cake safely for you as well as advising you on best methods of transportation, however once the cake leaves the shop Cake Works cannot be held responsible for anything that may occur to it. Please make sure to inspect your cake before departure to ensure everything was made to proper specifications with correct spellings, etc. We will be happy to fix anything before you leave the shop but cannot be held responsible for any details you are unhappy with afterwards.
Delivery: Cake Works does offer delivery service island-wide. Cake Works’ goal is to make sure your cake is delivered before the reception time, but if our staff is not properly informed of the reception time we cannot guarantee a timely delivery. We offer delivery starting from $30-$100. Here is a listing of some of our general delivery fees around the island:

$70- Maile, Wahiawa, Kaena

$95- Waimea, Turtle Bay, Kahuku, Camp Erdman, Loulu Palms
If we are not given correct address information, reservation names, or your contact person is not reachable at the time of delivery, we cannot be held responsible for an untimely delivery. If we are unable to deliver your cake, and we cannot reach anyone, we will return the cake to the bakery. We will require a second delivery charge in order to re-deliver your cake, so please make sure your contact person will be reachable at the time of delivery.
Cake Stands and Rentals
Rentals: Your cake does not come with a stand upon order. If you would like to rent a stand from us, we can provide a stand for a $25 rental fee. We also require a $150 security deposit as incentive to make sure the cake stand is returned to us. The $150 deposit will be charged to your card at the time of ordering the cake stand, and will be refunded to your card if the stand is returned to us within 3 days of your event, clean, and in good condition. If any parts are missing, your deposit will be forfeit. A 10% service charge will be subtracted from your deposit if the cake stand is returned dirty.
Guarantee and Acts of God
Our Guarantee: Cake Works promises you the best product and service possible. It is our wish that by choosing Cake Works, we can be an important part of your special day. It is always our goal to more than satisfy you. However, Cake Works cannot be held responsible for ANYTHING that should happen to the cake once delivery is complete. Please note that direct sunlight and temperatures of 80 degrees or higher as well as excessive humidity may have drastic and adverse affects on any cake.
Acts of God: Cake Works obligation to perform will be modified to the extent necessary based on transportation problems, delays in product delivery, inclement weather, acts of God or other causes beyond Cake Works control that make it impossible or impractical for Cake Works to perform.
